Successful treatment of hypnic headache syndrome with flunarizine

We report nine patients with hypnic headache according to the HIS-II classification who were initially treated with flunarizine. Structural lesion has been rule out performing brain MRI in all cases. In our opinion flunarizine is a very good alternative in the prophylactic treatment of hypnic headache. The efficacy of flunarizine was moderate only in one of our patients. According to our patients evolution we think that flunarizine is a good therapeutic option for hypnic headache, and the low doses could be enough.
